Maritime Emergency Medical Service

The Maritime Emergency Medical Service (EMS) includes six high-speed vessels located in stationary ports in Dubrovnik, Mali Lošinj, Rab, Supetar, Šibenik and Zadar. The medical part of the crew on the high-speed vessels is provided by the county institute of emergency medicine in whose area the high-speed vessel operates, and the non-medical part by the competent port authority. The high-speed vessels are equipped with medical equipment and supplies, as well as EMS vehicles, and ensure the availability of emergency medical care to residents and visitors of the islands and coastal places inaccessible by road.
