Accessibility Statement

The Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (OG 17/19) transposing the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

Degree of compliance

These websites are largely compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (OG 17/19) and the CARNET’s Digital Accessibility Guidelines which have been reviewed and approved by national umbrella associations of persons with disabilities.

The implementation of a new platform based on WordPress CMS and plugin Divi-Modules – Accessibility Sidebar  for accessibility meet the requirements of the European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08), with the exceptions listed below.

Inaccessible content

    • The content listed below is inaccessible for the following reasons:
    • Some PDF files included in the posts were not entirely created by exporting from the source file in Microsoft Office Word with the accessibility options selected, but by scanning printed documents, i.e. they are not accessible because they are not appropriately prepared for screen readers,
    • Some PDF files may open in a new browser tab, while Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can only be downloaded,
    • Some images and files do not have an appropriate text description (alt text),
    • Some images have textual content but are not logos,
    • When applying the “grayscale” filter in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, the website content may not always be displayed in the same way,
    • Serif fonts are used in some documents,
    • Some links are displayed with the text “Here”, “More”, “Read”, etc.
