Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Service

Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Service (EMS), i.e. emergency medical care for patients prior to hospital admission, is within the domain of the 21 county institutes of emergency medicine. Each county institute has its central medical dispatch unit and field teams. Pre-hospital EMS interventions provide EMS ground teams, EMS maritime teams and EMS helicopter teams.
