The Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine is implementing the e-Training project, i.e. a continuing professional training programme of healthcare professionals electronically at remote locations. This programme greatly facilitates access to professional contents for healthcare professionals on the islands and in rural and areas that are difficult to access.

Through the implementation of the e-Training project, the Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine aims to increase the quality knowledge of health professionals, to provide them with an expert and accessible source of knowledge, to eliminate all doubts, and thus to increase their confidence while taking care of patients in emergency and life-threatening situations and ultimately to create the prerequisites for the development of health services in their areas.

Lectures are held through separate video conferences. The lectures are broadcast from the central location of the lecturer to multiple locations of the listeners. All the lecture participants have the possibility of simultaneous mutual audio-visual communication and an overview of content or materials for individual lectures.

The professional chambers included in the e-Training programme are: Croatian Medical Chamber, Croatian Nursing Council, Croatian Chamber of Midwives, Croatian Chamber of Medical Biochemists and Croatian Chamber of Health Professionals. All lectures are registered and scored for the purpose of renewing the licenses of health professionals.
