Short description of the project

The project will establish an emergency maritime medical service on high-speed vessels that connects the islands of the Republic of Croatia and the coastal area in order to ensure effective emergency medical care. The Emergency Maritime Medical Service will include six high-speed vessels with the necessary equipment to provide emergency medical care. Vessels and related equipment will also be used for search and rescue and medical assistance in cases of maritime accidents and maritime disasters. Also, in order to prevent unnecessarily high costs of transport from the island to the mainland by high-speed vessels, in dispensaries at the initial destinations of patient care it will be possible to perform simple qualitative or quantitative medical-biochemical tests using automatic biochemical analyzers to determine the need for emergency transport to the closest emergency medicine facility.

Improving access to primary and emergency health care with the focus on remote and deprived areas
